Kithwith is a garage inventory and sharing app. This page explains what information we collect, why, and who it's shared with. It's written in plain language rather than dense legal text — if anything is unclear, reach out at support@kithwith.app.

What we collect

  • Account info: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). Optionally a phone number and how you'd like to be contacted.
  • Items you list: names, categories, descriptions, photos, and where you've stored them (rooms, shelves, containers) — visible only to you unless you choose to share an item.
  • Sharing & requests: who you share items with (circles, specific email addresses, organizations, or a public link), and pickup requests you make or receive.
  • Organization accounts: if you register as a nonprofit, your organization name, description, and standing pickup hours, which are shown publicly to donors.

How it's used

Your information is used to run the app: showing your inventory back to you, connecting you with people you choose to share or donate items with, and letting owners and requesters coordinate a pickup. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who can see what

Items marked Private are visible only to you. Items you mark Shareable, For sale, or Free become visible to whoever you specifically share them with — a circle, an email address, an organization, or anyone with a link you've turned on. You control each of these individually and can turn a link off at any time.

Payments

Kithwith does not process payments. Prices on For sale items are informational only; any money changing hands happens directly between the people involved, off-platform.

Third-party services

Fonts and icons are loaded from Google Fonts and Font Awesome's content delivery network, which may log basic request information (like your IP address) under their own privacy policies. We don't use analytics or advertising trackers.

Data retention & deletion

Your items, photos, and account information are kept until you delete them or ask us to close your account. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@kithwith.app.
